Don’t let mercy Pass you by

Ghent altarpiece
He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice. (Diary of St. Faustina 1146).

There’s been a lot of talk of mercy lately. And we all know Mercy is scandalous because mercy forgives what seems unforgivable. But sometimes I see a blur in the lines of what people think mercy is. Mercy is compassionate to those who need compassion.  Mercy forgives, but to be clear, Mercy does not condone sin. Mercy forgives sin. And in order for one to be forgiven and receive mercy, one must be sorry and want to receive mercy.  Don’t puff up in pride of your sin and let mercy pass you by. If you don’t receive mercy because you’re not sorry and you reject it, you will receive Justice. Repent and believe in the Gospel.

  1. I read this quote by Venerable Fulton J. Sheen recently – Due reparation made, the Church will admit the heretic back into the treasure of her souls, but never the heresy into the treasure of her wisdom.

  2. Marie says:

This absolutely needs to be said. “Cheap” mercy is being promoted which leaves the impression God compassionates our sinfulness to the point of not requiring our conversion and abhorrence for sin.

“Be ye holy as your Father in Heaven is holy….”

“Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…..”

  3. Yana says:

“Turn down pride and mercy will stare at you”, as quoted by Scott Hahn. 😀
